About DHQ

DHQ was founded in 2005 by ADHO and ACH to be the associations’ outward-facing journal, serving an ambassadorial role to a wide audience in the humanities and other DH-adjacent domains. It has been published since 2007 on a “diamond” open-access model, with no charges to either readers or authors. Funding for the journal’s production work is provided by ACH and the institutional host(s), with additional subvention from ADHO. ACH is grateful to Julia Flanders for over two decades of innovative leadership and dedicated service to the journal. For more about the mission and values of ACH and DHQ, visit ACH.org and dhq.digitalhumanities.org/.

DHQ’s core philosophy and values include a commitment to:

  • diamond open access publishing
  • an R&D-based approach to journal publishing, centered on open-source development and open data
  • inclusive, values-driven, and collaborative methods
  • supporting multilingualism

ACH and DHQ welcome inquiries. Please reach out to Julia Flanders (j.flanders@northeastern.edu), DHQ Editor in Chief, and Eduard Arriaga Stefano Morello (smorello@gc.cuny.edu), ACH and DHQ Liaison.
